What is a Callout?
A callout is a graphical element used to identify the cutting/projection plane and its orientation, of drawing views, such as:

Section views
-
Detail views
-
Projection views
It typically consists of:

A profile (line, circle, or shape)
-
An arrow indicating direction
-
A label (e.g., A-A, B-B)
⚠️ Important:
Callouts are not standard geometry.

They cannot be moved like normal elements
-
They are linked to views and their definitions
Creating a Callout
To create a callout from scratch:

Open a drawing document
-
Select a view (main view)
-
Choose one of the following tools depending on your need:

Section View
-
Detail View
-
Projection View
-
Draw the callout profile:
-
For a section → draw a cutting line
-
For a detail → draw a circle or boundary
-
For projection → define projection direction
-
Place the resulting view
✔ The callout is automatically created and linked to the new view
Modifying an Existing Callout Geometry

Double-click the callout
→ The Edit/Replace toolbar appears

Drag elements of the callout (e.g., endpoints)

(Optional) To constrain one segment, right-click this segment and select Line.object > Fix.

Click End Profile Edition
✔ The view updates automatically
Inverting the Callout Direction

Double-click the callout
-
Click Invert Profile Direction
-
Finish editing
✔ The direction of the callout is reversed

This feature is not available for detail views
Replacing a Callout

Double-click the callout
-
Click Replace Profile
-
Draw a new profile
-
Double-click to finish
✔ The old callout is replaced
More About Red Callouts;
1-Modification of Callouts
If you modify a section or auxiliary callout in such a way that the resulting view becomes inconsistent with its original definition (for example, if the resulting view plane is no longer valid relative to the defining view):

All callouts of the resulting view are displayed in red
-
These callouts cannot be edited
-
The modification is not propagated to related detail views
Important:
Inverting a callout profile is allowed and does not always cause an issue.
Callouts turn red only if the modification (including inversion) creates an inconsistency between the defining and resulting views.
2. Translation of Section Callouts
If you move (translate) a section callout
-
The plane of the resulting section view is modified
-
It remains parallel to its previous orientation
However, this creates an inconsistency with dependent views.
As a result:
-
The detail callout becomes red
-
Other callouts remain unchanged
-
All callouts are still editable
⚠️If you create a detail view on the section view and translate the section callout without any visible impact on the resulting section view, the detail callout becomes red anyway and is editable.
Note:
This situation is not resolved by updating the view.
The red callout indicates a logical inconsistency between views rather than an update issue.
3. Resizing of Callouts
If you resize a section callout that is constrained by its supporting lines of the profile:

The detail callout does not turn red

The callout remains valid and editable
