This training course allows the user to acquire the technical information and methodologies to be operational in the context of a project at CERN. Please note that only the concepts used at CERN will be studied.
The course includes topics such as:
- User interface
- Sketcher workbench: positioned sketch, creation and modification of sketches, sketches duplication, formulas between internal or external constraints
- Part Design workbench: Non contextual part design, structures modification, parametric design, publications
- Assembly Design workbench: Multi-levels assemblies, publications use, constraints creation, configuration management (scenes), cache mode and huge assemblies management
- Drafting workbench: drawing realization, views creation/modification, exploded views, clipping views, detailed views, view link update, dimensions, tolerances, cartouche creation/update
- Knowledge initiation (powercopy, formulas, design table, catalog use...)
Example of CAD pieces and Drawings in CATIA
Objectives
In the end, the user shall be capable of:
- Search, open and consult some 2D or 3D models made with Catia V5
- Design complex solids
- Design simple surfaces
- Create some Assemblies with several levels
- Create a drawing from a Part or a Product
- Realize some parametric constructions according to the official CERN methodology
- Use the scenes to manage different configurations of an assembly
- Access to the different sources of information and to the online documentation
- Create pictures from parts, assemblies, 3D views annotations;
